| Throughout history, wise men have used stories to
explain greater truths. Godly men and prophets used real life illustrations
to explain spiritual mysteries. Jesus himself used parables to make
himself understood.
Today, the Christian message is often lost in a world bombarded
with blurred moral lines, situational ethics, and spiritual complacency.
Yet the soul seeks to identify with someone, or something. People
search for answers to problems they feel are uniquely theirs.
They secretly seek the truth, afraid to seem imperfect in a "perfect
world."
Drama, in many ways, provides a way for them to identify and
connect with God's answer to their very real questions. Drama
can bridge the gap between the secular "should-be" and
spiritual reality.
Potter's Cast, the drama ministry of Green Acres Baptist Church
in Tyler, Texas, brings the Word to life through creative arts,
music, serious performance, comedy, and interpretive movement.
Creative worship can be used to illustrate a traditional sermon,
to encourage attendance, to reach the unchurched in a "non-churchy"
way...the only limitation is your imagination.
